Skipton Building Society for Intermediaries has demonstrated its commitment to making things easier for home buyers by joining mortgage broker Trussle’s Speed Promise.
The UK’s fourth largest building society announced the move as it continues its journey to become a top ten lender.
Trussle launched its Mortgage Speed Promise in September 2021 because of what they saw as a lack of consistency in mortgage approval times amongst lenders. It not only offers customers greater speed for processing and decision making, but also unparalleled certainty.
The service offers customers award-winning mortgage advice within 24 hours and a mortgage decision within five working days.
This comes at no added disruption or effort for customers – applicants will not be required to submit further documentation beyond what is currently required for a mortgage application.
Any customer who uses the Speed Promise but does not receive a decision within 5 days will receive £100. Terms and conditions apply.
John Scrivens (pictured), Skipton’s regional manager, said: “Over the last couple of years at Skipton we have been working hard to streamline our processes and use technology to enable a slicker customer and broker experience.
“We are pleased to be working with Trussle through their Speed Promise and looking forward to supporting more customers with their mortgage requirements.”
Amanda Aumonier, head of operations at Trussle, added: “We’re extremely pleased that more lenders are joining our Speed Promise.
“Buying a new home should be an exciting time, and so it’s such a shame that it’s considered one of the most stressful processes in life.
“We want to make mortgage applications easier and this starts by giving buyers certainty over their mortgage application as soon as possible.
“The time of waiting weeks for a decision on your mortgage application is over. By using technology and automation and working with lenders who are committed to overhauling slow and manual underwriting processes, we can cut the time it takes to give our customers a decision to a matter of days, without compromising on service.
“This will hopefully bring some of that excitement back to buying a home.”
