Centrick grows after huge surge of new instructions

Property specialist Centrick has more than doubled the size of its buildings and estate management team after being instructed on over 130 developments in just five months.

Centrick has been appointed by clients including E&J and Simarc – two of the largest freeholders in the UK – on apartment developments comprising 3,800 homes spread from Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield in the north, Birmingham and Nottingham in the Midlands, and Southampton and Essex in the south.

Notable developments include Broadway Plaza in Birmingham, Trent Bridge Quays in Nottingham (Elevate Property Group), Panorama Apartments in Ashford, Kent, and The Gothic by Cordia Blackswan in Birmingham.

Simarc has instructed Centrick on a portfolio of eight schemes, with over 154 homes, in the south and south west, including Swindon.

Centrick has expanded its building and estate management team to more than 60 as it anticipates taking over management of more than 8,000 homes this year.

The team has grown in order to ensure its award-winning customer service standards are maintained and to effectively manage the increase in portfolios.

The Birmingham-based company recently announced it is launching a series of new city office hubs in an ambitious national expansion drive as it continues to secure major new contracts.

It is investing more than £1m this year as it recruits more staff to deliver services from new regional offices in Sheffield, Southampton and Gerrard’s Cross, as well as city hubs in Manchester, Portsmouth, and Nottingham. More hubs at key locations are in the pipeline.

Sarah Hammond, building and estate management director, said: “We are really proud to be receiving more business from valued clients, such as E&J and Simarc – two of the largest freeholders in the UK. They are entrusting more of their portfolios to us which is a huge vote of confidence in Centrick and the quality of work our team is delivering.

“This has been a period of unprecedented growth for both the business and our team and we are excited at the expansion of our services to new areas in the north and the south. We are investing significantly in training, through our Centrick Academy, and in new technology to make sure we’ve got the right tools to keep delivering the outstanding levels of service our clients deserve.

“After opening an office in Southampton, we have gained a significant foothold in the region and that has helped us to gain further instructions. We have started onboarding entire portfolios of properties in separate tranches relating to just over 100 buildings. There will be even more from E&J coming later this year including a portfolio of over 1,000 units. These will be predominately in the Midlands area.”

Group managing director Phil Johns added: “Both Centrick’s building and estate management and build to rent services have continued to experience strong growth and, as part of the next phase of the company’s evolution, we are investing significantly to build our regional office hub network.

“Our local property managers and strategic hubs are ideally placed to ensure we meet and exceed our own high standards in property management, building strong relationships with residents as well as supply chains and contractors. This allows best value for money delivery and better knowledge of local environments, which is always top of the agenda for our clients and their customers.”
