Crestbridge appoints real estate funds head

Crestbridge has promoted Brian Jemwa to head up its real estate funds division as the firm looks to enhance its proposition for globally dynamic real estate fund managers.

Jemwa will take on responsibility for providing leadership and direction to Crestbridge’s multijurisdictional real estate funds team.

With a career in cross-border financial services spanning 19 years, Jemwa has particular expertise in financial and risk management and control assurance reporting

He has worked with a range of key clients at Crestbridge since joining the firm in Jersey in 2015.

As well as being a member of Crestbridge’s real estate leadership team, Jemwa continues to act as a director on several boards of regulated and unregulated entities, including Jersey companies with prime UK offices and retail assets with combined Assets Under Management (AUM) of more than £4bn.

Prior to joining Crestbridge, Jemwa worked for one of the big four accountancy practices where he was responsible for the audits of large, regulated companies.

He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and approved as a Principal Person by the Jersey Financial Services Commission.

Operating across six prominent global financial jurisdictions, Crestbridge’s Real Estate Funds team has a strong heritage in the real estate space, providing diverse and tailored solutions to a full range of managers, from debut to end of life funds.

Today, the team works with 90% of the top ten private equity real estate fund managers globally and services US$80bn of real estate assets.

Jemwa said: “I’m delighted with the opportunity that this role presents, at what is a really exciting point in Crestbridge’s journey. I look forward to drawing on the firm’s considerable experience across the real assets spectrum to further enhance and shape the range of bespoke services provided to real estate fund managers, from administration, compliance, and reporting services to restructuring, listing, and ManCo support.”

Michael Johnson, group head of institutional services, Crestbridge, added: “Brian has already proven to be a highly valued member of our team and has contributed increasingly in a senior leadership capacity over the past year. He provides robust direction and valuable expertise as we have continued to grow, evolve, and develop a compelling proposition in the real estate funds space.

“Providing an agile solution to real estate fund managers is an absolutely core part of our business. I’m delighted that Brian will be drawing further on his extensive experience and knowledge to continue to enhance our position and underline our market-leading offering for real estate fund managers.”
