SimplyBiz continues Consumer Duty education with WOM ‘deep dive’ event

SimplyBiz will be hosting a Consumer Duty ‘deep dive’ event on the 25th of August, available to not only its Member Firms, but also wealth, mortgage, consumer credit, and protection advisers across the sector.

The 90-minute virtual session will explore the Final Rules published by the FCA on the 27th of July, what they mean for advisers, what the practical application of the rules will look like, and the support available from SimplyBiz.

The event, which attracted over 500 registrations within 48 hours of opening its bookings, will feature specialists from across SimplyBiz and SimplyBiz Mortgages, and includes a live Q&A session with viewers.

An ‘on-demand’ version of the event will be available to those who were unable to secure a place for the live broadcast.

It forms part of SimplyBiz’s second wave of adviser education on the Consumer Duty, which also includes gap-filling and process implementation plans, bespoke workshops, and sessions at upcoming events for both IFA and mortgage firms in 31 locations across the UK.

Karl Dines, SimplyBiz head of business consultancy, said: “The Consumer Duty ushers in a new era of regulation and, as the UK’s leading provider of regulatory and business support to financial advisers, we want to ensure all firms have access to the support they need to ensure that our profession can confidently meet requirements of the Consumer Duty.

“Whilst the principles of the new regulation are already being observed by the majority of advisers, managing the reality of the practical application of a cultural shift will take some work.  Our event on the 25th of August is designed to help financial services professionals understand the implications of the Consumer Duty for them, and start to plan their next steps.”
