Skipton launches new series of ‘Skipton Talks’ podcast

Skipton Building Society launched a new series of its podcast for intermediaries, entitled ‘Skipton Talks’.

The four part series, which is aimed at brokers, will cover topics from technology to mental health.

The podcast series, which re-started on Tuesday the 8th of November, is the third instalment in the ‘Skipton Talks’ programme, which began in 2020 when the webinars for intermediaries were originally created during the pandemic.

Hosted by Johnathan Evans and Derek Adams, Skipton’s national accounts leads, the podcasts will be available on a host of channels including Spotify, Apple Music and Google Podcasts from November 8th.

The first podcast, “Technology: we all have a part to play”, discusses technology used in the sector and asks the question, is the industry embracing this to its full potential?

The podcast moves onto what Skipton are currently doing to implement technology and make things easier to brokers, before speaking about what Skipton are looking to do in the future that brokers should be excited about.

The second podcast is titled “The Mortgage environment: Important dates, the direction of rates and opportunities for the taking.”.

This episode talks about how brokers and lenders can make things easier for our members in the current climate.

Episode guests, Charlotte Harrison (head of mortgage products) and Richard Merrett (SimplyBiz) discuss the wider market, and what rates and opportunities we might see in the near future.

The podcast moves onto the guests speaking about their own mortgage experiences in the current climate, and what lenders and brokers can be doing to make things easier for members.

The rest of the podcasts will drop on a weekly basis throughout November.
