Skipton Building Society For Intermediaries has appointed Lucy Lewis (pictured) as its new national account lead.
Lewis, who is from Milton Keynes, started her career within financial services in the marketing department at Countrywide, looking after their direct marketing proposition, before later changing roles to a field-based sales development manager.
She then took time off to become a mum before starting work at the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries, at first just in a part time admin role and then later as a senior policy adviser – she finally moved to L&G Mortgage Club at the start of last year as a lender account executive where she was managing lender relationships before her move to Skipton.
Lewis said: “Buying a home is one of life’s milestones whether that’s getting your foot on the property ladder for the first time, buying more space to meet the needs of a growing family or downsizing as you no longer need so much space.
“Not only is it one of the biggest financial commitments that people make in their lifetimes but it’s an emotional decision with people buying with their hearts as well as their heads.
“It’s incredibly important to people and a privilege to be able to play a small part in that.”
She added: “I’m delighted to be joining Skipton Building Society and to be able to play a part in their growth journey.
“I am a firm believer in the value of advice and the great service provided by mortgage intermediaries and I’m looking forward to working closely with firms to bring the Skipton proposition to life and to make a difference to the lives of their customers.”
Paul Fenn, head of business development, said: “I’m delighted Lucy has agreed to join us here at Skipton.
“Lucy’s experience of distribution and the broker markets and will be vital in helping us to achieve our objectives of making things easier for brokers.
“Her detailed knowledge of what’s important to both brokers and lenders is so important in a more complex and challenging market.”
