Berkeley Alexander appoints new commercial account handler

General insurance provider Berkeley Alexander has appointed Jack Benton as its commercial account handler.

Benton is tasked with helping Berkeley Alexander expand its presence in the mortgage and IFA market, and further grow its commercial insurance broking service with agents across the UK.

He has quickly built a solid range of commercial expertise since commencing his career with Hastings Direct in 2017.

Joining Berkeley Alexander from Chris Knott Insurance, where he held the position of commercial and personal lines broker, he has experience across a wide range of commercial risks, including professional indemnity, public liability, fleet motor and combined policies.

His broking experience combined with strong business development skills means he is well placed to assist agents in meeting the insurance needs of a wide variety of business risks.

Geoff Hall, chairman of Berkeley Alexander, said: “We’re delighted Jack has chosen Berkeley Alexander as the place to further develop his skills, he will certainly make a great addition to our commercial team.

“Highly organised, goal driven, and hungry to expand his knowledge I’m confident he will assist us in continuing to grow our commercial presence and reputation for providing differentiated solutions to a wide variety of business. We wish him every success.”

Benton said: “I am excited by the opportunity Berkeley Alexander has offered me to develop my experience and take a huge leap forward toward realising in my career aspirations.

“In this climate, it is more important than ever for businesses to be protected against the variety of risks they face, and I look forward to speaking with advisors and brokers about the broad range of commercial products we have to offer.”
