Coventry Building Society recognised as one of the UK’s best workplaces for wellbeing

Coventry Building Society has been officially named one of the UK’s best workplaces for wellbeing by Great Place to Work.

The Society ranked 27th in the super large organisations category on the list revealed this week.

Its financial wellbeing sessions, access to a digital GP and expert counsellors on-hand 24 hours a day through its employee assistance programme, are just some of the reasons colleagues at the Society believe it’s a great place to work.

Lucy Becque, chief people officer at Coventry Building Society, said: “Our people are at the heart of our organisation.

“We listen, we evaluate, and we tailor our wellbeing programme to make sure it reflects what our colleagues need in the moments that matter.

“Whether it’s helping balance working life, support for better sleeping, looking after mental health or giving top tips on managing money – there’s something for everyone and we’re delighted that we can celebrate wellbeing in this way.”

Its carers’ flexibility programme also contributed to its wellbeing success which helps colleagues balance working life with other priorities such as parental and caring responsibilities.

Last year, the programme extended support for colleagues having fertility treatment with three days paid leave.

Great Place to Work’s culture experts analysed thousands of employee surveys, assessing people’s experiences of wellbeing at work to determine the UK’s best workplaces for wellbeing list.

The survey looks at work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety and financial security.

Evaluations also included an assessment of how well the organisation was able to deliver consistency of their employee experience across all departments and seniority levels.

Last year, the Society was also named as the one of the UK’s best workplaces for women by Great Place to Work and ranked 14th out of the 39 super large organisations on the list.
