Brightstar Group marks International Women’s Day with emphasis on equity and inclusion

The Brightstar Group is set to mark International Women’s Day on March 8th with a range of activities across its businesses, Brightstar Financial and Sirius Property Finance.

This year’s theme of #EmbraceEquity will be embraced through various workshops focusing on issues that women face in the workplace.

The Brightstar Group has a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion, and the International Women’s Day celebrations are part of their ongoing effort to promote this.

The workshops will aim to raise awareness of the difference between equity and equality, and will focus on key issues such as relationship breakdown, pregnancy, parenting, menopause, and women’s health issues.

Colleagues from both businesses will share their personal experiences of how these issues have affected their work experience, and how they have been managed in the workplace. The discussions will contribute to the development of a new framework of good practice for managing menopause across the Brightstar Group.

Clare Jupp (pictured), group director of People Development, said, “The Group continues to place a huge emphasis on diversity and inclusion in its entirety and our observance of International Women’s Day is a key event in our ongoing commitment to this.

“We continue to focus on issues that are potential barriers for progress and which can affect a positive work experience. A topic of particular interest this year will be the menopause and the planning of a framework to support women as they navigate their way through this challenging experience.”

International Women’s Day is a day to celebrate the achievements made by women throughout history and to continue the mission for gender equality. The Brightstar Group has been a leading light for diversity and inclusion, driving this agenda and the Women in Finance Charter, and winning multiple awards for its outstanding work in this respect.
