John Glanville joins Hampden & Co

Hampden & Co, a private bank in the UK, has announced the appointment of John Glanville as a banking director in its London office.

Glanville, who previously worked at Kleinwort Hambros for more than 10 years as a private banker in the Ultra High Net Worth team, will report to Mark Prentice, head of banking, and work alongside the banking teams in Edinburgh and London.

In his new role, Glanville will provide clients with bespoke banking services, including day-to-day banking, deposits, and a range of tailored borrowing products. He will also contribute to Hampden & Co’s broad mortgage suite, which includes retirement, buy-to-let, self-build, and multi-property products.

Hampden & Co has been adding to its banking, senior management, and support teams due to growing client numbers and strong financial performance.

In 2022, it hired Kevin Eagles, Gill Sanders, and Alistair Macpherson as banking directors, Hannah Berridge as head of orofessional partnerships, and Jon Peake as CFO. With 125 employees, the bank has grown 22% in 2022.

Prentice said: “We are delighted to welcome John to Hampden & Co. He brings extensive knowledge of private banking and has a proven track record of building trusted relationships with clients, managing their wealth, and supporting their banking needs.”

Glanville also expressed his excitement in joining the company at a time when it is experiencing significant demand from a broad range of clients, professional intermediaries, and mortgage introducers.
