Knowledge Bank, the UK’s largest database of lending criteria, has announced the launch of ‘KB INSIGHTS,’ a powerful tool powered by the Knowledge Bank criteria sourcing engine.
The new system enables lenders to analyse their criteria’s performance and benchmark it against the entire market or specific areas.
By identifying gaps in their criteria that may exclude them from brokers’ searches, lenders can pinpoint new lending opportunities and the size of potential markets.
Developed in consultation with high street lenders, building societies, and specialist lenders, KB INSIGHTS leverages the millions of searches performed by brokers on Knowledge Bank, providing a rich dataset for benchmarking their proposition against market demand and competition.
The system covers seven lending types, including residential, buy-to-let, second charges, equity release, self-build, bridging, and commercial, and offers customisation options to meet individual lender requirements.
Accessible via a user dashboard, KB INSIGHTS displays key metrics such as the lender’s average search position, frequency of appearance in brokers’ searches, and more. An API is also available for lenders who prefer to integrate the data directly into their analytics systems.
Knowledge Bank CEO Nicola Firth (pictured) said: “Lenders have always been desperate to know how and where their criteria was positioned in brokers’ searches and now they have that power.”
She added that the system allows lenders to find criteria niches and assist more brokers in placing more cases.
KB INSIGHTS includes comparison tools, enabling lenders to refine their policy propositions and provide greater clarity to brokers.
The system’s policy performance ‘ribbon’ displays the lenders’ spectrum of acceptance, and they can compare their policy wording, spread, and gradings as well as the popularity of categories.
Lenders can also view the criteria categories that make up the profile of potential borrowers and the cases that brokers aim to place.
The system showcases the top 20 criteria searches performed by brokers in any of the seven lending types, offering insight into the current lending landscape and how their criteria align with demand. KB INSIGHTS can generate reports and export data into lenders’ systems or CSV files.
