Specialist lender and savings bank, OSB Group, has announced that its new charity partner for the next two years will be Depaul UK, a charity dedicated to supporting young people facing homelessness.
This comes after the group’s successful partnership with CALM from 2020 to the end of 2022, which raised over £170,000 for the suicide prevention charity.
Depaul UK offers a range of support services for young people including emergency accommodation, longer term housing, family mediation, education, training, and employment opportunities.
The charity also carries out prevention work in schools to help young people navigate future challenges and give them the best possible start in life.
Andy Golding (pictured), CEO, OSB Group, said: “I’m very pleased that we’ve been able to find a charity that’s on a mission to end homelessness for younger people, or those at risk of becoming homeless. Our colleagues have voted and shown that supporting younger people and helping to combat homelessness is close to all of our hearts here at OSB Group.”
In addition to financial support, OSB Group will also double the hours of volunteering for its colleagues to help make a real difference in local communities and provide support where it’s needed the most.
Mike Thiedke, CEO of Depaul UK, added: “Depaul UK are delighted to be chosen as OSB Group’s next charity partner and we want to say a big thank you to everyone who voted for us. OSB Group’s support will have a huge impact on the lives of young people currently facing, or at the risk of homelessness.
“Through our partnership with you, we can continue to develop our services, with a plan to reach even more young people, supporting them in their journeys towards a healthy, independent future away from the dangers of homelessness. We are really looking forward to what we can achieve together over the course of the next two years.”
