Five principal brokers graduate from Just Mortgages leadership programme

Five self-employed principal brokers have become the latest graduates from the Just Mortgages Business Principals Leadership programme, taking their next steps as multi-broker outfits.

The programme is designed to support principal brokers looking to expand their business by taking on new team members.

The aim is to help build on their leadership skills to ensure principals get the most out of their team members in terms of performance and productivity.

All brokers are asked to complete the programme within 12 months of becoming a principal.

This is to ensure that brokers are in the best possible position to drive their business forward and help their team reach their full potential.

The three-day training takes place in a face-to-face environment and is split over the course of three months, minimising disruption to their business.

Kirsty Dudek, one of the latest principals to take part in the training programme, said: “The programme has given invaluable support and advice.

“Being able to have a forum to really open up with both the struggles and successes that come with taking on new advisers and growing a business has been invaluable to me.”

The leadership programme is just one part of a full suite of training and support available to both self-employed and employed brokers at Just Mortgages.

In addition to leadership and management, brokers can access sales support, product and protection training, sales quality and compliance support, marketing and wellbeing.

Laura Hide, senior training manager at Just Mortgages said: “While many advisers are expert communicators and build fantastic relationships with clients, they don’t always have the necessary skillset to manage and develop other brokers.

“This programme forms an integral part of our wider principal training and provides the tools to help self-employed brokers go from ‘one-man bands’ to multi-broker operations.”

She added: “It’s fantastic to receive such positive feedback from our latest cohort of principal brokers, demonstrating the value they have received from the course.

“This is so important in our mission to provide the infrastructure and support for self-employed brokers to ensure that while they may be on their own, they’re certainly not alone.”

Having welcomed 48 new advisers in Q1 of 2023, the self-employed division at Just Mortgages is fast approaching 500 advisers.

Through Just Mortgages, advisers have the freedom to manage their own business, all while benefiting from ongoing training, mentoring and compliance support.

In addition to becoming a principal broker, there’s also the opportunity to expand licence options and income streams through business protection, commercial property and equity release.
