Leading environmental and climate data authority Groundsure is teaming up with risk management provider Legal Eye to offer a climate risk training module for conveyancers.
The online course, hosted on Legal Eye’s Training Academy platform, is designed to educate legal teams on the intricacies of climate risks and the duties they owe to their clients. Participants will be guided through the latest guidelines from the Law Society and the process of integrating climate risk analysis into their overall environmental search reports.
“Climate risks are areas that will become of increasing fiduciary concern to partners, COFAs and COLPs,” said David Kempster, Groundsure’s marketing director. “Now that the Law Society has released its guidance on climate risks, there is more of a focus than ever on how firms are communicating risks to their clients.”
Paul Saunders, managing director of Legal Eye, emphasised the importance of the new module, stating, “To give their clients compliant information that can be relied on consistently, firms need both the right data and the right approach to using it.”
Upon successful completion and passing of the module test, lawyers will receive a certificate of competence, further adding to their professional credentials.
