Just Mortgages has announced a significant charity donation, with £12,000 being raised by its staff for the Magic Moments Children’s Charity.
Magic Moments, founded in 1998 by Alick and Val Smith, is a charity dedicated to helping children with life-limiting illnesses and their families experience memorable holidays at Disneyland Paris.
Alick Smith was the chairman of Spicerhaart, the UK’s largest independent estate agency, at the time the charity was founded. Over the years, the charity has successfully raised over £1m.
The funds raised by Just Mortgages will not only support annual trips to Disneyland but will also provide vital equipment such as electrical appliances and hoists, along with toys and supplies for children’s hospices. Magic Moments presently supports 13 children’s hospices situated near Spicerhaart branches across the country, allowing staff to see the tangible impact of their fundraising efforts.
Just Mortgages’ recent fundraising initiatives culminated at a two-day Lender Fayre in Birmingham, where a charity auction helped boost the total donation. Greg Smith, learning and development manager at Just Mortgages, also sold copies of his children’s book “Jess and her Fabulous Friends” at the event, with all proceeds going to the charity.
John Phillips (pictured), national operations director at Just Mortgages, said: “Magic Moments truly is a special charity that creates unforgettable moments for children and families across the country. Across Just Mortgages, Just Wealth, and the wider Spicerhaart family, our partnership with Magic Moments is incredibly important to us.”
He added: “It’s humbling to see this partnership remain a priority for all, even as the business grows and new faces join. I look forward to presenting a cheque for £12,000 to the charity and can’t wait to see what the team has in store over the coming year to try and surpass this donation.”
