Keychain debuts digital platform to revolutionise mortgage broker-client interactions

Fintech firm Keychain has introduced a new platform for mortgage brokers aiming to modernise the way they interact with clients.

The platform is designed to digitise the entire mortgage advice journey, offering a seamless, paperless experience for both brokers and clients.

The innovation comes from the minds of co-founders Jack Rogers, a former Bank of England economist, and Ivan Sivukha, a seasoned software engineer. It focuses on enhancing critical aspects of the mortgage transaction process such as fact finding, document sharing, and electronic signing of client care documents.

Over the past 18 months, Keychain has worked closely with a select group of brokers to refine its custom workflows, which have been meticulously designed to suit each transaction type. These workflows make data collection easy and efficient for every client, from first-time home buyers to portfolio landlords dealing with complex transactions.

Keychain has caught the eye of the Land Registry, which has offered the start-up financial backing exceeding £100k through its Geovation accelerator programme.

This initiative supports firms focused on revolutionising property transactions. Keychain’s inclusion in the programme also provides the company with invaluable access to Land Registry data.

“There are thousands of fantastic mortgage advisors across the country who guide their clients through life’s most significant financial transaction,” Rogers said. “We identified a market gap for a software solution that seamlessly integrates into existing ways of working, enabling brokers and their clients to efficiently share the data and documents required for the advice journey. Keychain allows brokers to focus on providing advice rather than admin tasks.”

Rogers and Sivukha were inspired to establish the business following their personal experiences with the cumbersome, paper-based processes prevalent in their own mortgage advice journey.

Richard Messinger of Eden Associates, a mortgage broker based in Surrey, praised Keychain’s solution: “We’ve moved to a more remote client process over the last few years and have continually faced the issue of clients not completing all required information sharing, which takes significant effort on our part to address. Keychain’s solution has made the process far more efficient and professional for us as advisers and improved the client experience.”
