UK Finance has released its Largest Mortgage Lenders tables for 2022, revealing the annual ranking of mortgage lenders by outstanding balances and gross lending.
In top spot was Lloyds Banking Group, which saw a balance of £309.5bn and a market share of 19.0%.
In second place was Nationwide Building Society, with a balance of £203.6bn and a market share of 12.5%, followed by NatWest Group in third with a balance of £186.8bn and 11.5% of the market share.
Other lenders who made it to the top ten included Santander UK, Barclays, HSBC Bank, Virgin Money plc, Coventry Building Society, Yorkshire Building Society and TSB Bank.
