The Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI), the Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association (IMLA), and the Diversity and Inclusion Finance Forum (DIFF) are urging more individuals to become mentees for their mentoring scheme.
Launched in June and hosted on workinginmortgages.org.uk, the initiative has already welcomed 133 mentors and 48 mentees.
Open to all lenders, insurers, and intermediaries at no cost, the programme is tailored to help professionals in the mortgage sector develop their skills, expand their career opportunities, and gain confidence in the industry.
Nicola Goldie, Aldermore’s head of strategic partnerships & growth and a member of IMLA’s management committee, said: “Their commitment to sharing expertise and fostering career growth in others is evident. We highly recommend individuals, especially potential mentees, to explore this invaluable resource.”
Robert Sinclair (pictured), the managing director of AMI, reinforced the scheme’s advantages: “From skill enhancement, networking, personal growth to deep industry insights, the benefits of mentoring are manifold. Our platform provides a simple way to establish these pivotal mentor-mentee relationships, and we’re keen for more people to tap into its potential.”
To aid in decision-making and onboarding, the dedicated section of the website features informative videos on key mentorship topics. These include readiness for mentorship, key skills expectations, and insights into the mentoring process.
Furthermore, the platform delineates the entire mentorship process — from registration and match-making to goal setting and progress assessments. Engaging guides at every step ensure participants make the most of their mentorship experience.
