The Cumberland Building Society is intensifying efforts to expand its intermediary lending team. Through this expansion, the society seeks to offer holiday let and residential mortgages via its extensive broker network.
Overseen by the newly appointed head of intermediary lending, Grant Seaton, the 17-strong team includes figures such as Anne Hodgson, business development manager; Lisa Hodgson, senior sales manager; Kevin Aitken, relationship manager; and Ieuan Keir, lending officer.
This bolstering move follows a 2021 decision by the society to expand its reach within the intermediary market.
Seaton said “As we continue to develop our intermediary offering… our people are offering an outstanding service to our intermediary partners. I am very mindful that automation has its advantages, but so does the human touch.”
Hodgson, who boasts 30 years in financial services, commented on the current state of affairs: “It’s an exciting time for The Cumberland’s Intermediary team… By continuing to offer excellent products and services to intermediaries throughout the UK, we’re well placed to support brokers nationwide.”
Hodgson, a Cumberland veteran, added: “With a great team filled with exceptional talent… At The Cumberland, we aim to put people at the heart of what we do.”
Kevin Aitken, having climbed the ranks over his 20 years at The Cumberland, and Ieuan Keir, with a unique background in acting, complete the diverse team.
Emphasising a hands-on methodology, The Cumberland’s Intermediary team collaborates with brokers throughout the application journey, adopting a pragmatic approach to problem-solving, rather than relying solely on automated systems.
