Bridging Finance Solutions invests £2m in major expansion of Wirral headquarters

Bridging Finance Solutions (BFS), the short-term lender based in Wallasey, Wirral, has announced a £2m investment plan to significantly expand its headquarters. The investment comes as part of the firm’s broader growth strategy and will be the largest office development Wallasey has seen in decades.

The company, now in its 18th year, currently employs a 25-strong workforce and aims to add an additional 17 staff members over the next two to three years, including five apprenticeships. The expansion will enable BFS to accommodate its rapidly growing team, with the company witnessing a compound annual growth rate of 25%.

Steve Barber, managing director of Bridging Finance Solutions, said: “We are seeing a compound year on year growth of an average 25% and so inevitably we are beginning to outgrow our original home as we build our team to meet demand.”

The company has opted to remain in its original location, purchasing and demolishing adjacent properties while also reconfiguring its existing premises. This decision was made to invest in the local economy and sustain employment retention. “In doing so, we are keeping our business local, we are sustaining employment retention whilst creating professional job opportunities and will continue to recruit locally moving forward,” Barber added.

To execute the project, BFS has engaged architects Condy Lofthouse and management surveyors Turner Associates. Work on the expansion is set to begin immediately after more than two years of planning and consultations, including interactions with local council planners who have supported the project.

Barber concluded: “This is a really exciting time for BFS. We’ve worked incredibly hard to get to the position we are in now. We understand our market and our customer base and we are undoubtedly a national market leader within our focus area. This development marks the next stage for us and provides us with the infrastructure on which to build on.”
