In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in the High Atlas region of Morocco, Bristol-based financial planner Samuel Gee of Manning Gee Investments has launched an appeal to provide critical support to those affected by the disaster.
The earthquake, which struck with no warning, left a trail of destruction in its wake, resulting in huge numbers of injuries and loss of life, and the displacement of an estimated 300,000 people.
Recognising the urgency of the situation, Gee has launched the “Morocco Appeal” to extend a helping hand to those most in need.
He said: “As someone who has had the privilege of visiting Morocco many times since 2012 and cherishing connections with locals in some of the areas deeply impacted by this tragedy, I simply couldn’t stand by and do nothing when I heard the heart-wrenching news of the earthquake.
“Many people in Morocco lack the financial means and security to rebuild their lives after such a catastrophic event, and I felt a profound urgency to take action and hopefully make a tangible difference.
“Contributions to this appeal will help deliver high-priority medical aid, facilitate the reconstruction of homes and provide essential support to grieving and hurt families.
“Every donation, regardless of size, will make a significant impact on the lives of those close to the epicentre of the earthquake, where resources are scarce and the challenges are immense.”
