Phoebus releases second ESG report outlining long-term sustainability goals

Phoebus, the financial services software company, has published its second Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report, setting the stage for its long-term sustainability initiatives.

The ‘Positive Impact Report’ details the company’s comprehensive five-year ESG plan, hinging on four pillars: climate, community, people, and governance.

With a track record of being carbon-neutral for 13 years, Phoebus sets its sights on becoming carbon zero by 2030.

The company has been partnering with sustainability expert Positive Planet to formulate carbon reduction plans and boasts an internal Green Team that spearheads positive environmental activities within the organisation.

The report not only provides a snapshot of Phoebus’ existing ESG efforts but also lays down a concrete roadmap for the future. Among its initiatives, Phoebus is committed to Carbon Literacy Training for key team members, aiming for organisational Gold Accreditation in 2024.

The company plans to extend free Carbon Literacy Training to both existing and prospective clients, hoping to galvanize the financial services sector toward greater sustainability.

Paul Hunt, CEO of Phoebus, expressed the company’s vision in these terms: “As a company operating at the intersection of technology and finance, we understand our profound influence in driving societal and environmental change. This report is a transparent reflection of our ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability into our business operations, product development and corporate culture.”

Hunt also emphasised the business imperative of embracing ESG principles, stating, “Having an ESG strategy, and following it, is an essential part of today’s business environment and central to how we operate and engage with our supply chain.

“Phoebus’ clients know they are working with a firm that takes our responsibilities around ESG seriously and can benefit from the positive outcomes our strategy brings.”
