Scottish Building Society and Snugg join forces to promote energy-efficient homes

Scottish Building Society is partnering with home efficiency innovator Snugg to help its customers improve the energy efficiency of their homes.

The partnership aims to assist the UK in meeting its net zero carbon emissions target while making green living more accessible for the Society’s members.

Scottish Building Society, the world’s oldest building society, will offer Snugg as an option for all its savings and mortgage customers.

Through Snugg’s online platform, customers can enter their postcode to receive customised recommendations for potential energy-saving improvements.

The service will also connect customers to trusted installers and grants, streamlining the process of enhancing home efficiency.

Customers who require additional funding for the recommended upgrades can consult with Scottish Building Society for financial options.

Robin Peters, CEO of Snugg, said, “While taking care of the environment is a long-term investment, our partnership with Scottish Building Society brings us a step closer to driving real change. It’s an opportunity not only to improve individual households but to make a meaningful impact on the environment.”

Paul Denton, CEO of Scottish Building Society, added: “Everyone has a role in tackling climate change. Our partnership with Snugg offers practical steps for our members to improve their home efficiency. This initiative is crucial to reducing carbon emissions and contributes to the broader goal of sustainability.”

The collaboration comes amid reports that 40% of the UK’s CO2 emissions originate from homes and 48% of Scottish homes hold an energy performance certificate (EPC) rating of C or worse.
