Octane Capital makes three new hires in its sales team

Octane Capital has made three new hires to its sales team, appointing both Lee Warne and John Smith as business development managers (BDMs) and Darren Pointer as an internal business development manager.

Warne joins Octane having spent close to eight years at Shawbrook Bank, where he managed the internal broker support desk, and Smith joins from West One, where he was senior regional account manager.

Warne and Smith will be responsible for managing face-to-face relationships with brokers, and their appointment brings the total number of Octane external BDMs up to seven.

Warne said: “I am thrilled to have joined Octane Capital.

“It’s brilliant to see what the company has achieved in such a short space of time, and I’m delighted to be a part of the next phase of growth.”

Smith added: “I am excited to have joined such a fantastic business. Octane has a superb product range and reputation; I’m looking forward to spreading the Octane proposition to our intermediary partners.”

Pointer—formerly at Brilliant Solutions as a broker support manager— will be responsible for phone-based broker support, ensuring Octane’s brokers receive terms for their enquiries quickly.

Richard Deacon, managing director of sales at Octane, said: “We are delighted to welcome Lee, John and Darren to the team.

“Each of them holds substantive experience in the specialist lending space and will be able to add value immediately.

“They have joined at an incredibly exciting time in Octane’s journey.

“We have an ambitious target of doubling our loan book in the next three years – and these new additions will help to drive us towards that.

“With the sales team now into double figures, combined with our very competitively priced products, we are relishing what the future holds.”
