Right Mortgage & Protection Network reports growth and diversification focus at National Training Event

The Right Mortgage & Protection Network has unveiled strong business figures and a rise in appointed representative (AR) firms and advisers at its recent National Training Event, held earlier this month in Birmingham.

Year-to-date figures reveal an 8% increase in mortgage completions, reaching 24,010, compared to the same period in 2022. Additionally, total lending volume has risen by 4%, standing at £4.5bn. As for the network’s AR count, 26 new businesses joined this year, with the total number of advisers now at 728.

The National Training Event, themed ‘Diversifying Your Business’, focused on encouraging firms to expand their product and service offerings. Key areas beyond mortgages such as protection, private medical insurance, general insurance and later life lending were highlighted.

The impact of this diversification is already evident: private medical insurance Annual Premium Income (API) has seen a 45% increase, exceeding £23m, while income protection sales have doubled year-on-year.

The event featured sponsorships from numerous financial institutions, including LBG, Nationwide, OSB, Virgin Money, L&G Home Finance, Uinsure CX, Aviva, Guardian, HSBC Life, Metlife, and Vitality. Over 90 exhibitors were in attendance, covering a full agenda of presentations and breakout sessions.

For the first time, a silent conference zone was integrated into the event, allowing attendees to hear from Google on digital marketing strategy. The event concluded with a talk from best-selling author Peter Komolafe, focusing on empowering clients through financial security and the role of social media.

Commenting on the event, Nicola Ventrella, operations director at The Right Mortgage, said: “Firstly, we’d like to thank everyone who attended, presented, exhibited and sponsored our National Training Event which, I think it’s fair to say, was our biggest and best yet.”

Ventrella continued: “We were able to announce some very strong business figures, across mortgage, protection and other sectors, and that is testament to the hard work and efforts of all our AR firms and their advisers.”

The network also runs monthly events like Technology and Marketing Masterclasses, Sales Focused Webinars, and Regional Sales Roadshows. Later this year, The Right Mortgage plans to host its Later Life Lending and Equity Release Conference and Gala Dinner.
