The Cambridge Building Society supports International Fraud Awareness Week

In recognition of International Fraud Awareness Week, The Cambridge Building Society is taking active steps to help customers and staff stay alert to the risks of financial fraud.

This initiative is part of the Society’s commitment to protecting its members and employees, especially in the current economic climate where financial crimes are increasingly prevalent.

Tristan Katanica, financial crime officer at The Cambridge, highlighted the Society’s efforts: “We take the protection of our members and our people very seriously and supporting International Fraud Awareness Week is one of several initiatives we take part in.

“We will be sharing insights, raising awareness of fraud and how to protect against it internally with our team members, and on our website, and social media channels for our customers.

“Being aware and keeping vigilant is half the battle in safeguarding against potential fraud, which is why we want to provide as much support as possible for everyone to know what to look out for and what to do.”

As part of these efforts, The Cambridge is visiting Manor Care Home in Cambridge to educate residents on identifying scams and protecting their money. The Society encourages visiting its website for more information and advice on fraud prevention throughout the week and suggests consulting www.takefive-stopfraud.org.uk for additional resources.

For reporting scams, The Cambridge advises contacting Action Fraud, the UK’s national reporting center for fraud and cyber-crime, at 0300 123 2040 or visiting www.actionfraud.police.uk.
