Tipton & Coseley Building Society announces CEO transition

Tipton & Coseley Building Society has confirmed that Richard Newton will step down as chief executive at the end of this year.

Newton’s departure comes after a decade in the role and a total of 32 years of service to the Society. He will be succeeded by Adam Evetts, currently serving as the Society’s risk & compliance director.

Evetts joined the Society in 2020 and brings over 27 years of experience in the building society sector, including roles at two top-ten societies.

He has extensive expertise in risk management, coupled with a strong commercial acumen and a proven track record in team leadership and management.

Upon his appointment, Evetts expressed his enthusiasm: “It’s an honour and privilege to be appointed to succeed Richard as chief executive and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to be leading the Society at such an exciting time.

“The mutual model is as relevant now as it has ever been in our 122 year history and I’m committed to making sure we continue to focus on providing value to our members and supporting our local communities.”
