HSBC UK has appointed Emma Hollingworth as its new head of specialist lending.

Hollingworth brings with her a 29-year track record in the intermediary mortgage market, marking a significant addition to the bank’s leadership team.

In her new role, Hollingworth will be responsible for building and expanding the bank’s specialist lending proposition, initially focused on the bank’s buy-to-let offering.

She said: “I am looking forward to leveraging my expertise to expand and enhance our specialist lending proposition for our customers.

Before joining HSBC, Hollingworth was managing director at Mpowered Mortgages. She was responsible for overseeing the company’s inception, end to end delivery for customers and intermediaries and the development of an automated mortgage application process.
