National Conveyancing Week reveals events agenda for 2024

National Conveyancing Week (NCW) has revealed its full events agenda, starting 11 March to 15 March.

NCW is a week-long series of online meetings and events designed to raise the profile of conveyancing, improve understanding of the home moving process, and create strong working relationships between all stakeholders.

On Monday 11th March there will be a ‘Material and Upfront Information and the Opportunity for Conveyancing’ session, which features representatives from the National Trading Standards Estate and Letting Agents Team on the requirements of the new material information guidance and implications across the property sector.

That evening, a discussion regarding ‘Creating a Digital Property Market and the Role of Conveyancers’ will take place, helping attendees to learn more about the way in which HM Land Registry, the Home Buying and Selling Group, the Digital Property Market Steering Group and Government are working together to develop the strategy for the continued digitisation of the property transaction.

On Tuesday 12th March, sessions include ‘Mental Health and Wellbeing in the Property Sector’ and the British Conveyancing Awards in-person or online.

On Wednesday 13th March, attendees will benefit from a ‘Collaboration Coffee Morning’, as well as a discussion around ‘What do consumers really think about moving home?’

Thursday 14th March will see Mike Harlow, HM Land Registry’s deputy chief executive and director of customer and strategy in conversation with Rob Hailstone, and in the evening, a discussion entitled ‘The Economics of the Property Market and What Might happen next’ will also take place.

Finally, on Friday 15th March, a ‘Wine’d Down’ session is scheduled for the evening, and offers attendees a chance to assess NCW, and discuss the week with NCW organisers and the conveyancing community.

All sessions taking place during NCW will be recorded and made available via the NCW YouTube channel, while anyone involved in the week can use, and follow, the social media hashtag #NatConveyWk2024 for ongoing updates.

NCW has also announced a host of commercial sponsors whose contributions have made it possible to share the free promotional packs and put on the series of events taking place throughout the week.

The sponsors contributing so far are: Access Legal, Actionstep, Bold Legal Group, Cashroom, Chimni Property Logbooks, Coadjute, The Conveyancing Foundation, Dye & Durham, Dual Asset, The ESTAS, Groundsure, Infotrack, Landmark Information Group, LEAP, Movin’ Legal, Ochresoft, Optimus, Perfect Portal, PEXA, Searchflow, tmgroup, and Today’s Media.

Rob Hailstone, organiser of National Conveyancing Week and chief executive of the Bold Legal Group, said: “With NCW just a few weeks away, we’re pleased to be able to announce the full series of seminars, presentations, and sessions which will be available to all throughout the five days.

“We’ve tried to put together events which focus on some of the key conveyancing and property market issues of the day, plus look at areas which are vitally important to firms themselves, for example, mental health and wellbeing.

“Registration is now open for all sessions via the NCW website, and we’re also delighted to hear many firms are planning their ‘Collaboration Coffee Mornings’ which will give them an opportunity to open their doors to all stakeholders in order to help grow existing relationships and generate new ones.”

He concluded: “We’re very excited about NCW and we are encouraging all conveyancing firms to register, get involved and help highlight the excellent work in this sector and its vital importance to the UK home buying and selling market.”
