SimplyBiz has unveiled ‘MyLearning Academy’, an online learning portal for financial advisers, developed in collaboration with Competent Adviser.
Available to all SimplyBiz member firms from today, the academy provides a tailored educational experience that supports a wide spectrum of qualifications, catering to both newcomers to the industry and seasoned advisers seeking specialization.
The platform offers courses that lead to qualifications from respected institutions such as the London Institute of Banking & Finance (LIBF) and the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).
It leverages Competent Adviser’s proven online study support program, celebrated for helping over 90% of its students pass their qualifications on their first attempt.
The learning approach breaks down complex material into manageable segments, followed by assessments to ensure comprehension.
Marc Thompson, director of Adviser Services at SimplyBiz, shared his insights on the new initiative: “As a result of the increasing value of advice, our members have told us that client growth is their number one priority for 2024.

Competent Adviser, acquired by SimplyBiz’s parent company Fintel in July of the previous year, was the inaugural acquisition for Fintel’s ‘Fintel IQ’ arm.
Fintel IQ serves as a technological and solutions hub, aimed at developing a cohesive regulatory and business support platform, which is integrated across Fintel’s customer channels.
