Compare the Market strengthens money team with new appointments

Compare the Market has expanded its money team with key new appointments as it aims to diversify its product offerings beyond insurance.

Andy Hancock, who joined as chief growth officer in January, has been focusing on widening the range of financial products to better support customer decisions. The team’s expansion includes new integrations for direct lender credit cards and loans.

Jameel Lalani will join as commercial director for money in August, succeeding Matt Simester who has served in an interim capacity. Lalani’s previous roles include chief product officer at Smoove and various positions at Moneysupermarket Group, including commercial director.

Charlie Evans and Erica Croxford are also set to enhance the team as head of commercial and head of category management, respectively. Evans joins from TotallyMoney, where he was head of commercial, and Croxford is promoted from within Compare the Market, where she has been a senior programme manager.

Christine Hull has been appointed permanently to oversee product management across Core and Growth products, after starting on an interim basis earlier this year. Her experience includes senior roles at Moneysupermarket Group and John Lewis & Partners.

Hancock commented on the new hires: “Since January, we have exponentially accelerated our ambitions to offer customers a more comprehensive range of products suitable for their needs. I am delighted to welcome Jameel, Charlie, Erica and Christine to the team to supercharge our progress, enabling us to help people save more money on their household bills.”
