Angela Norman appointed as new head of lending role at YBS Commercial

YBS Commercial Mortgages has appointed Angela Norman to the new role of head of lending.

The head of lending role has been developed to deliver strategic plans to enhance the support provided for portfolio landlords and owner-occupier smaller businesses, and lead the commercial lender’s ambitious growth plans.

Norman has worked in the industry for over 25 years, having previously worked as director of strategy and propositions at Recognise Bank, as well as in senior manager roles at Royal Bank of Scotland.

She will be leading the regional lending teams and working closely with the regional directors and their teams.

She will be based at the Yorkshire Building Society head office at Broad Gate in Leeds, but will spend much of her time travelling around the country, supporting the regional teams.

Norman said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at such an exciting point in the business’s growth journey.

“I am passionate about bringing teams together to create a high-performing culture that focuses on providing exceptional customer experiences, and I look forward to playing my part in delighting our commercial clients and delivering the goals and aspirations of the business.

“I believe that businesses and their advisers should have complete confidence when working with a lender to deliver their funding requirements.

“YBS Commercial has a unique opportunity to deliver this, leveraging the vast experience across the team with a strong focus on customer service and compelling, purposeful products.

“The launch of the new SME product, in direct response to broker feedback, reinforces a commitment to listen, and act upon, crucial external feedback, which is something I also intend to build on.”

Tom Simpson, managing director for YBS Commercial, added: “I’m absolutely thrilled to welcome Angela to the team and believe that, with her fantastic blend of strategic and customer facing experience in commercial lending, and in depth understanding of the brokers and investors we serve, she’ll play a crucial role in our ambitions to expand the business and provide even better service and support to our clients as we move forward into the future.”
