Nottingham Building Society has appointed Robin Ashton as chair of the board with effect from 1 July 2024.
He succeeds Andrew Neden, who is stepping down and retiring after 10 years on the board, having served as chair since April 2020.
Ashton joined the board of directors in December 2023.
He currently serves as non-executive director and chair of the audit and risk committee at Domestic & General Group where he has overseen a period of expansion and digital transformation.
Neden said: “I am delighted that Robin will be taking over as chair of the board. It’s been a privilege to serve on the board for the last 10 years and as chair since 2020.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many colleagues and our members for their support.
“Since joining the board in December Robin has proven his experience will be invaluable to Nottingham Building Society as it enters the next stage of its journey and I wish him and the team well.”
Ashton added: “On behalf of the oard, I would like to thank Andrew Neden for his significant contribution to the society since 2014, and in particular for his commitment and exemplary leadership as chair over the past four years.
“Nottingham Building Society has a rich heritage and loyal customer base, and I see great potential for growth as we continue our transformation journey to serve better the needs of today’s borrowers and savers.
“I am looking forward to working with CEO Sue Hayes and the team to help deliver our vision of increasing home ownership and continuing to provide an attractive savings proposition for our members.”
