EXCLUSIVE: NMA – Second Charge reveals Martin Bayfield as host, one week to vote

The National Mortgage Awards – Second Charge has revealed that Martin Bayfield (pictured), TV presenter and former England rugby star, will host its inaugural event on 14th November 2024.

Bayfield is a former British Lion and England International rugby player, broadcaster and winner of two Grand Slams, as well as an established host and after dinner speaker.

The event will bring together experts from across the second charge market to celebrate the achievements and successes of a vital and under-represented market.

The news that Bayfield will host the evening, which will also include a drinks reception, dinner and copious entertainment, comes as nominations enter their final week.

From brokers to lenders and third-parties, hopeful individuals and businesses have until 28th August to put forward either their own names or those of people they want to see recognised.

Nominations can be made for multiple entrants across all categories via a short form found here.

The event will take place at RIBA, Portland Place in London.

Ryan Fowler, publishing director at The Intermediary, said: “We are very excited to welcome Martin to join this event, which is shaping up to be the highlight of the industry calendar.

“I’m looking forward to his hilarious addition to the night, as well as welcoming all our guests – nominees, judges, sponsors and lucky winners – to celebrate with us in November.”

He added: “There is still time to fill in our streamlined form and put your name – or someone else’s – forward for recognition.

“The more nominations received the better, as this will help inform our extensive research period once the votes are in, before panels of expert judges take over.”
