Conveyancing Association sets agenda for 2025 annual conference

The Conveyancing Association (CA) has announced the agenda for its 2025 annual conference, set to take place on 30th January 2025 at the Hilton Deansgate Hotel in Manchester, with Landmark Information Group as the headline sponsor.

The conference, entitled ‘Past, present and future – where is the conveyancing industry up to and what can we expect in the future?’, will focus on the current state of the sector and its future direction.

The Conveyancing Association has identified 2030 as a target for achieving a digital end-to-end conveyancing process, making 2025 a key point for reflection and planning.

Eddie Goldsmith, CA advisor, will chair the event, which features several sessions.

Roger Martin-Fagg, a behavioural economist, will discuss the economy and housing market in 2025, combining insights from finance and policy with management strategy.

Landmark’s Rob Gurney will present on data technology and AI, followed by a panel on sustainability led by Chris Loaring, director of sustainability at Landmark.

Ed Boulle from Orbital Witness will focus specifically on AI in conveyancing, with a subsequent panel led by Beth Rudolf, CA’s director of delivery, featuring experts from TM Group, Dye & Durham UK, PEXA, and WNS.

There will also be four discussion groups in both the morning and afternoon, allowing delegates to choose their sessions.

Topics include: social media, marketing and PR with David Gilroy, pricing models within the conveyancing industry facilitated by David Bridge with panelists Victoria Mortimer, Geoff Hall, and Mark Slade, talent attraction challenges with Nick Hale, and technology in conveyancing led by Beth Rudolf with participants from inCase, Thirdfort, Armalytix, Post Partner, and Orbital Witness.

The CA annual dinner will follow the conference, with Stewart Title sponsoring the drinks reception.

The event aims to raise funds for The Children’s Society Charity and includes entertainment and a raffle sponsored by Propertymark.

Attendance is open to both CA member firms and non-members for a fee.

Nicky Heathcote, non-executive chair of The Conveyancing Association, said: “We are now just a couple of weeks away from what is the jewel in the event crown for the Conveyancing Association, our Annual Conference & Dinner, taking place once again in Manchester.

“The agenda has now been set and we believe we are offering a range of excellent sessions to choose from straddling some of the biggest challenges facing conveyancing firms in today’s market, particularly the economy and housing market, and the impact of AI.

Heathcote added: “Split between the morning and afternoon sessions, ticking all the CPD boxes, through the topics, speakers and panellists, we’ll endeavour to provide attendees with a range of perspectives, plus some tangible solutions and strategies to take away in order to make a success of whatever market conditions we are dealt, and how we might use AI to tackle some of them.

“It promises to be an excellent day with lots of information to be gleaned, networking to be achieved, and fun to be had at the Annual Dinner.

He said: “We are very fortunate to have so many affiliate members in attendance at the exhibition, plus both our headline sponsor, Landmark, and our drinks reception sponsor, Stewart Title.

“Everyone on the CA team is looking forward to welcoming the entire industry, but particularly our legal member firms, to Manchester on the 30th for what promises to be a Conference & Dinner not to be missed.

“Whether your firm is a CA member or you just want to see what we are all about, while also embracing CPD that is actually interesting and useful in your role, then please visit the Conference website to get booked in.”
