CII Group qualifications and assessment director joins FAB board

Nicola Mellor, qualifications and assessment director of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Group, has been appointed to the Federation of Awarding Bodies (FAB) Board.

FAB represents the UK’s qualifications and assessments industry, with members focused on providing high-quality qualifications and assessments.

Joining Mellor on the Board are Alison Parkes of EAL Awards, Kelle McQuade of Training Qualifications UK, Steve Smith of SIAS UK, and Terry Fennell of FDQ.

The recent FAB Board elections, conducted by UK Engage, ensured transparent governance that reflects its diverse membership.

Mellor said: “I am delighted to be joining the FAB board and working with fellow Board members and the awarding organisation community to take forward the exciting new strategy.

“It is a pivotal time for skills policy and practice, both nationally and internationally, and I look forward to working closely with the fantastic team on evolving the way we support FAB members to excel in this landscape and, through this, help practitioners in all our sectors to thrive, progress and professionalise.”

Rob Nitsch CBE, chief executive at FAB, said: “I am delighted to welcome our new Board members and to congratulate Charlotte and David on their re-election.

“The calibre of our Board reflects the strength and diversity of the Federation’s membership, and I look forward to working closely with all members to ensure FAB continues to champion the vital role of awarding and assessment organisations across the UK.

“Congratulations to everyone elected – your leadership will undoubtedly help us achieve great things together.”
