Over 1.8 million applications completed in January – HM Land Registry

In January 2025, HM Land Registry transactions data revealed that over 1.8 million applications were completed, an increase from over 1.5 million in December 2024.

This total was also slightly higher than the 1.88 million applications processed in January 2024.

The South East led the regions with 422,822 applications, while Greater London followed with 358,032.

The North West saw 216,304 applications, and the South West registered 182,912.

Notably, 301,500 of the total applications were for register updates, up from 272,715 in December.

Requests for an official copy of a register reached around 1.1 million, compared to 803,687 the previous month.

Additionally, search and hold queries were at 194,671, increasing from 184,798. Transactions for value rose to 86,227, a jump from 59,822.

There were also 15,425 postal applications from non-account holders, up from 13,961 in December.

The Isles of Scilly recorded 78 applications, Wales tallied 85,239, while England and Wales not assigned had 105.

The total number of applications across all regions and countries stood at 1,886,714 million for the month.
