Vernon Building Society launches first ever TV advertising campaign

Vernon Building Society has launched its first TV advertising campaign to enhance its visibility in Greater Manchester and Cheshire.

Starting today, 24th February, the ‘Make It Count’ ad will air on ITV Granada for a month.

The advert highlights how saving with a local building society offers fair rates, supports local first-time buyers, benefits local charities, and focuses on members rather than shareholders.

The advert was filmed at the newly refurbished St Petersgate branch, featuring staff as extras.

Darren Ditchburn, chief executive at Vernon Building Society, said: “This feels like the right time for us to invest in TV advertising.

“The Vernon aims to have a presence in each of the ten Greater Manchester boroughs over the next five years, so it’s important people in Greater Manchester and Cheshire understand our values.”

Ditchburn added: “With the ISA deadline approaching, we want people to think carefully about where they save their money.

“Investing in a local building society not only provides you with competitive rates, it also builds a better future where you live and work.

“Building societies have a commitment to invest in local charities and causes and listen to the wishes of Members about the issues that matters most to them.”
