Hilco Real Estate Finance (HREF) has provided a £27m loan to Sir Christian Sweeting, an investor based in Gibraltar.
The loan was secured against two properties in Mayfair and Knightsbridge, comprising serviced apartments and residential apartments with short-term tenancies.
The borrower, an experienced real estate entrepreneur, aims to improve the operational performance of these properties.
Knight Frank conducted valuations for the transaction, while Trowers & Hamlin provided legal due diligence in London.
Charlie Job (pictured), associate at Hilco Real Estate Finance, said: “This complicated transaction underlines HREF’s ability to work through complex circumstances, providing flexibility and support to borrowers with their transitional financing requirements.”
Sweeting said: “It was great to work with a lender that was prepared to take the time to fully understand the complexities and nuances of this transaction.
“The challenges were worked through methodically and successfully, and I look forward to establishing a long-lasting relationship with HREF.”
