Yates Hellier acquires CIB Residential following the retirement of founder

Independently owned lettings and estate agency Yates Hellier has completed the acquisition of Glasgow West End-based CIB Residential following the retirement of its founder, Ronnie Carpenter (pictured middle).

Founded in 2013 by Jack Hellier (pictured left) and Ross Yates (pictured right), Yates Hellier said it has entered a new chapter following this acquisition.

This move comes after the launch of its flagship sales branch on Glasgow’s Hyndland Road in Spring 2024.

Established in 1987 and based on Byres Road, CIB Residential has a portfolio of 250 managed properties located mainly in the West End of Glasgow.

Carpenter said: “It was important to me to pass the business on to a company that genuinely cares.

“Following my retirement, I wanted to be able to walk down Byres Road and not have to cross the road if I saw one of my former clients coming towards me.

“Yates Hellier was the natural choice. I knew their reputation for service, professionalism, and attention to detail.”

He added: “I have full confidence that in Jack, Ross and their accomplished team, the landlords and tenants I’ve looked after for years will continue to receive excellent service.”

The acquisition has brought Yates Hellier’s total managed portfolio to over 600 properties.

Hellier added: “This acquisition made perfect sense for us. Our business is built around providing a hands-on, premium service.

“When the opportunity arose to acquire CIB, whose portfolio is located within our core operating area, I could see it was the perfect fit.”

He concluded: “Having a tightly managed portfolio in a defined area allows our team to be present on-site whenever we are needed, providing a level of service and responsiveness that sets us apart.

“It has been a pleasure working with Ronnie on the transaction, and I wish him all the best in his retirement.”
