West One has announced the formation of a new Mortgage Division, consolidating its residential, buy-to-let and second charge lending into a single business unit.
The restructure will be led by Marie Grundy, who has been appointed managing director, mortgages.
The move marks a further step in West One’s growth strategy following the rapid expansion of its residential mortgage offering since its launch in 2022.
Grundy, who joined West One in 2017, has played a central role in developing both the second charge and residential propositions and will now take charge of the buy-to-let portfolio as well.
As part of the restructure, Phill Tyson has been appointed head of mortgage operations and will oversee underwriting across the new division.
Sales functions will also be aligned, with Paul Huxter, head of intermediary sales and distribution, and his team taking on responsibility for buy-to-let alongside residential, with a focus on supporting Club and Network partners.
Packaging partners will gain dedicated buy-to-let support from the specialist distribution team, led by Pauline Rylands.
The restructure also introduces dedicated sales support for West One’s short-term lending business, covering bridging and development finance, under the leadership of Guy Murray and Tom Cantor.
Grundy said: “This is very much a natural progression for our business. The consolidation of the products under the new Mortgage Division will mean a more joined-up approach to distribution, and ultimately better service for brokers.
“With all the mortgage products now under one roof, I look forward to working with our broker partners to develop deeper connections and provide seamless access to the full range of products we can offer.”
Danny Waters, CEO of West One’s parent company Enra Specialist Finance, added: “At West One we are focused constantly on delivering fantastic service and optionality to our broker partners.
“By consolidating our mortgage products into one division we put ourselves in the best possible position to be easy to deal with and to provide a joined-up, efficient service.
“Marie has been with us for eight years, and in that time has been a tremendous ambassador for the firm and has delivered continued success. I can think of no one better qualified to spearhead this next phase of our growth.”
