bdht and J. Harper & Sons complete affordable housing scheme in Stourport

Bromsgrove District Housing Trust (bdht) and J. Harper & Sons (Leominster) Ltd have completed a 33-home affordable housing development in Stourport.

The Vale Road scheme delivers one- and two-bedroom apartments, with five homes built to wheelchair adaptable standards.

Features include wider entry points, larger bathrooms with grab rails, lowered sinks and toilets, ramps, and allowances for stairlifts, assistive technology, and modified kitchen layouts.

Antony Rees, managing director of J. Harper & Sons (Leominster) Ltd, said: “We are proud to have delivered another high-quality and much-needed affordable housing project in partnership with our valued client, bdht.

“This project is a testament to the determination and hard work of all parties involved and serves as a fine example of how re-purposing under-utilised brownfield sites brings a wealth of benefits to the community and helps meet local housing needs.”

Louise Wooldridge, development delivery manager at bdht, said: “This project reflects bdht’s commitment to building thriving, inclusive communities.

“Working with J. Harper & Sons (Leominster) Ltd has allowed us to not only deliver these much-needed homes but also address local feedback by enhancing the surrounding environment through thoughtful landscaping and infrastructure improvements.

“Vale Road will play a vital role in Stourport’s regeneration and we look forward to continuing this momentum of building more homes, providing accessible living and investing in energy efficiency to create better outcomes for our residents.”
