Cirencester Friendly appoints Andy Lucas as chair

Income protection provider Cirencester Friendly has named Andy Lucas as its new chair.

Lucas has been on the board since 2021 and was previously senior independent director.

He takes over from Janice Banks, who retired after nine years on the board, with the last two as chair.

Lucas brings four years’ experience on the Cirencester Friendly board and has held senior roles at Prudential, ACE European Group and Cambridge Building Society.

He is also vice-chair at Buckinghamshire Building Society, a trustee of two charities, and a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Lucas said: “I am delighted to make the move from senior independent director to chair of Cirencester Friendly’s board of management.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Society so far and with exciting plans for growth on the table, I look forward to playing my part in shaping the future of the organisation and seeing the Society continue its upward trajectory in the years to come.”

Andy Morris, CEO at Cirencester Friendly, said: “I am thrilled that Andy has been elected as our new chair.

“We have an excellent working relationship, and he wholeheartedly understands and supports our ambitious growth strategy.

“With his background in marketing and transformation, he will be perfectly placed to offer candid and sound advice to the board and the wider executive team.”

Morris added: “I look forward to working closely with him and the rest of the board to achieve our objectives and serve the interests of Members for their long-term protection.”
