Melius Group acquires BPN Commercial, launches Melius Commercial

Melius Group has announced the acquisition of BPN Commercial and the official launch of Melius Commercial.

The merger blends Melius Group’s advisory excellence with BPN Commercial’s commercial lending reputation, creating a specialist firm that is uniquely equipped to serve developers and businesses across the UK.

Leading the venture is Dan Jones, founder of Melius Finance, whose background spans senior
roles at HSBC and over a decade as an independent mortgage adviser (IFA).

Jones, now sale director of Melius Commercial, emphasised the vision behind the merger: “Bringing together Melius Finance and BPN Commercial gives us a strong foundation.

“We’re focused entirely on development and commercial finance – a complex area where deep understanding matters.

“Our combined experience means we can offer practical solutions efficiently.”

Alongside him is Ben Neilson, founder of BPN Commercial, who assumes the role of commercial director.

Neilson stated: “This move makes sense. Dan and I both know that success comes down to understanding clients and getting finance arranged.

“Having worked in banks and run our own firms, we’re built to be responsive to what developers, landlords and business owners actually need.”

James Ahmed, independent financial adviser, who oversees the company’s wealth management division, said: “Adding Melius Commercial is a logical step. It means our wealth clients can easily access commercial finance expertise when needed, while commercial clients benefit from our broader infrastructure. It’s about practical synergy.”

Completing the leadership team is Tom Singleton, formerly of Essential Group and AFIG, who
joins as partnerships director.

He added: “My focus is connecting developers and business owners with the right product to support growth.

“This team has vast amounts of experience across the commercial and property finance sector, and my job is to ensure those who need that specialist support know we’re here to deliver it.”
