Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) has revealed plans for its first purpose-built extra care housing scheme as part of the Lots Road South development in Kensington and Chelsea.
The proposals include 274 new homes, with 65 extra care flats at social rent, 53 homes for social rent, and 156 for private sale.
A planning application has been submitted by Mount Anvil after four rounds of public consultation.
If approved, the development will also have a community centre, communal areas, and commercial space.
All 65 extra care homes will be accessible, and 10 will be suitable for wheelchair users.
The scheme is aimed at residents over 55 who receive home care, offering them independent flats with 24/7 on-site support.
Councillor Emma Will, lead member for property at RBKC, said: “This is a different kind of care – one that gives older residents independence and dignity, with peace of mind that help is always nearby.
“It’s about creating homes, not just housing where residents feel safe, respected, and supported without giving up their autonomy.
“Residents can enjoy the privacy of their own self-contained flats, while knowing that personalised care and support are available on-site whenever they need it.”
Will added: “This is a first for RBKC and we are very proud to be working with Mount Anvil and our communities to deliver this high-quality development.”
