Sancus Lending UK has appointed Steve Thompson (pictured) as relationship director to help grow its national origination team.
Thompson will work with Andrew Charnley, managing director at Sancus and the team to bring in new business, focusing on structured development finance and bridging loans.
He will also manage relationships with external stakeholders to support Sancus’ property-backed lending.
Thompson has 20 years’ experience in financial services and specialist lending.
Most recently, he worked at West One as a portfolio manager, handling development finance transactions from structuring through to repayment.
His earlier roles include senior lending positions at OakNorth and Metro Bank, as well as a debt advisory post at Peritus.
Thompson said: “I’m joining Sancus at a time of real momentum for the business.
“My career has always been focused on helping real estate borrowers navigate the funding process and deliver successful schemes, and I’m looking forward to working with the team to grow our presence and build strong, lasting relationships in the market.”
Charnley said: “Steve’s experience across origination, portfolio management, and advisory makes him an excellent addition to the team.
“His understanding of the full development lifecycle and ability to build trusted relationships will be invaluable as we continue to expand our development finance proposition and deliver a service-led approach to lending.”
