Property Ombudsman launches new website to promote best practice

The Property Ombudsman (TPO) has unveiled a redesigned website aimed at supporting best practice in the property sector and helping to prevent disputes from escalating into formal complaints.

The updated site includes an enhanced business search tool so consumers can check who is registered with TPO, along with clearer guidance on how to refer a complaint.

Users can also access case studies, practical advice, and links to specialist organisations offering property, legal and technical support.

For businesses, the website offers streamlined registration forms and refreshed resources developed in collaboration with industry groups.

It also features TPO’s Codes of Practice, while a feedback option at the bottom of each page invites both consumers and businesses to shape future updates.

TPO confirmed that a new online portal is also in development for registered businesses, following the rollout of the new website.

Andy Clachers, chief executive, said: “Our digital channels received more than half a million visits last year and have become the bedrock of our service.

“The new site’s responsive design will be easier to view on a wider range of devices, and we’ve built in tools to improve accessibility for a more inclusive customer experience.

“We hope users find the new website useful and informative, with our teams regularly reviewing the content and functionality to refine and improve the customer journey.”
