L&G appoints head of affordable homes

Legal & General (L&G) has appointed Shaun Holdcroft (pictured) as head of affordable homes as the business continues to grow its presence in UK housing.

Holdcroft, who has been with the business since it launched in 2018, will now take charge of day-to-day operations for the affordable housing business.

Ben Denton has moved to head of strategic growth (affordable housing) in L&G’s asset management division.

Holdcroft said: “I am delighted to be taking on the leadership of our Affordable Homes business.

“Having helped at every stage to create the business we are today; I have a deep understanding of the impact we make in the lives of our customers.

“I’m committed to building on that success through delivering and responsibly managing more affordable homes across the UK”.

Denton will focus on expanding L&G’s affordable housing platform and attracting investment.

Denton said: “During my leadership of L&G’s Affordable Homes business over the past several years I’ve been proud to see it grow from a bold idea into a nationally recognised provider with over 8,000 homes in operation or development.

“I’m pleased to now be taking on a wider remit growing L&G and third-party investment into the sector – building on our record of delivering the high-quality, accessible housing that is desperately needed on a national scale.”

Dan Batterton, head of housing (UK) at L&G, said: “L&G’s Affordable Homes business has developed from a start-up into a market leader within the sector, and these changes reflect a natural evolution in its journey as we scale-up investment into our housing platforms.

“I look forward to continuing working closely with Shaun and Ben in this next chapter for the business.”
