Moray Council has confirmed its commitment to keeping its housing up to standard and making sure tenants are safe, as set out in its latest annual assurance statement.
The statement was signed by Housing and Community Safety Committee Chair Councillor Amber Dunbar (pictured, left) and Depute Chair Councillor Paul McBain (pictured, right) after committee approval.
The assurance statement detailed how the council is meeting standards expected of social landlords, including where targets have been reached and where improvements are still needed.
It covered key safety areas like fire safety, gas servicing, and carbon monoxide detection.
It also highlighted ongoing work to improve housing quality and energy efficiency, supported by a £16.7m investment.
The Scottish Social Housing Charter, set by the Housing (Scotland) Act 2010, sets out the standards all social landlords must achieve so tenants get a good service for their money.
Dunbar said: “Tenants deserve to feel safe and secure in their homes, and this Assurance Statement reflects our continued commitment to delivering the high standards they expect.
“We’re proud of the progress made and remain focused on making further improvements, especially in safety, energy efficiency, and housing quality.”
The assurance statement will be sent to the Scottish Housing Regulator and will be part of its annual risk assessment.
The regulator will publish an updated engagement plan for Moray Council by 31st March 2026.
