The Personal Finance Society (PFS) 2025 Autumn Roadshow kicked off in Surrey last Thursday, 11th September, with its first event focused on wealth and cashflow planning for professionals.
Madeleine Debney, co-founder at Otto, spoke about the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in wealth management.
Debney said: “The future is specialised AI that can act on your behalf […] [it] doesn’t go to sleep, it works 24/7.
“AI is always on and rewiring time, access and industry expectations.”
A snap survey at the event showed that 21% of firms said AI was embedded, 56% were experimenting, and 23% had not yet started.
Debney said AI in professional services surged 40% in 2024 with “measurable gains in productivity and accuracy.”
Debney went on to explain that AI can streamline client onboarding, automate compliance monitoring, provide generative client engagement, and improve portfolio rebalancing.
The Autumn Roadshow will visit 10 more locations across the UK in September and October.
The aim is to show the technical and practical use of cashflow planning to help clients visualise the impact of long-term financial plans.
Carla Brown, president of the PFS, said: “We are delighted to be delivering the 2025 PFS Autumn Roadshow for our members, bringing together professionals from across the UK to focus on one of the most powerful themes in financial advice, ‘Wealth and cashflow planning: helping clients visualise their future’.
“These events are an opportunity for advisers to connect, learn, and share best practice, and I am proud that the PFS continues to support our members to thrive, evolve, and deliver the highest standards of advice.”
